The Junior League of Napa-Sonoma develops projects after careful consideration and research of an unmet community need that falls within the emphasis on positively impacting the lives of children and families. Each project provides initial and ongoing training to the members as well as high-quality service to its clients. Projects, usually in collaboration with another community group, receive two kinds of League support:
After working collaboratively with local nonprofit organizations to achieve specific goals and objectives, a League project is then turned over to the community agency or group best suited to maintain it. Over $200,000 has been distributed to projects in Napa & Sonoma counties since our founding as a League.
JLNS is very proud of our signature program, GLOW Girls Leading Our World! GLOW is a girls empowerment program where League members and guest speakers support the young women of Roseland University Prep, and provide an interactive program on a variety of topics including self-esteem, healthy relationships, self-defense, and financial literacy.
The Junior League of Napa-Sonoma responds to short-term requests for assistance from the community that meet our mission and are within our interest areas, but outside the formal project development process. Please contact our VP Community Outreach at community[at]jlns.org for more information.
